About Japanese Head Spa

What is a Japanese Head Spa?

A Japanese Head Spa is a specialized treatment focused on the scalp, hair and head. It combines scalp cleansing, shampooing, massage and hair care with a relaxing experience. At Belle Cheveu, our head spa treatments are designed to help you relax while caring for your scalp and hair.

What can I expect during a Head Spa treatment?

Your treatment may include scalp cleansing, shampooing, scalp massage and hair care, depending on the course you choose. After the treatment, your therapist will partially dry your hair, and you can style your hair using our hair dryers and styling tools.

What is the difference between a Japanese Head Spa and a regular scalp massage?

A Japanese Head Spa is more than just a scalp massage. Depending on the course, it may combine scalp cleansing, shampooing, massage and hair care. The goal is to provide both scalp and hair care while helping you relax.

Is a Japanese Head Spa suitable for men?

Yes. Head Spa is suitable for both men and women. We welcome male customers, and many men enjoy our treatments for relaxation and scalp care.

How long do the effects of a Head Spa treatment last?

The duration of the effects varies depending on your hair and scalp condition, the treatment course and your home hair care routine. In general, the effects of our hair treatments may last around two weeks, although this varies from person to person.

Booking & Visiting Our Salons

Do I need to make a reservation?

Yes. We operate by appointment only, so a reservation is required in advance. We recommend making your reservation as early as possible, especially if you are visiting Tokyo for a limited time or want to visit at a specific date and time.

Do I need to arrive early for my first Head Spa treatment?

No. You do not need to arrive early, whether it is your first visit or a repeat visit. Please arrive at your reserved time.

Can two people receive Head Spa treatments at the same time?

Yes, depending on availability. If you would like to receive treatments with a friend, partner or family member, please make a reservation for two people in advance. (Hiroo salon can accommodate up to three people.)

Can couples or friends visit Belle Cheveu together?

Yes. Couples, friends and family members are welcome. If you would like to receive treatments at the same time, please make a reservation for the appropriate number of people in advance.

Can my friend wait in the salon while I receive my treatment?

Unfortunately, our salons do not have a waiting area for people who are not receiving a treatment. We recommend that accompanying guests return after your treatment.

Is the Head Spa treatment private?

The Komazawa salon offers semi-private rooms, while the Daikanyama, Hiroo, and Yoyogi-koen salons offer fully private rooms.

Can I change my clothes at the parlor?

For the regular treatments there is no need to change your clothes. If you selected our Oil Neck Massage we recommend that you don't wear shirts with high collars, such as turtlenecks. For our optional Corte and Luxury courses we ask you to use our changing rooms before the treatment.

What is your change and cancellation policy?

Please see our Change and Cancellation Policy page for details.

Treatment & Hair Care

Can I get a Head Spa after coloring my hair or having a perm?

We recommend waiting at least three days after coloring your hair or having a perm before receiving a Head Spa treatment. This helps reduce the risk of affecting your hair color or perm.

Can I get a Head Spa after hair straightening?

In general, yes. However, if you have recently had your hair straightened, we recommend waiting three days before receiving a color-focused course.

Can I get a Head Spa if I have hair extensions?

Unfortunately, we ask customers to remove hair extensions before receiving our treatments, as extensions can make the treatment difficult to perform properly.

Are there any other conditions besides hair extensions that would prevent me from receiving a Head Spa treatment?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide Head Spa treatments for customers with dreadlocks or tightly coiled Afro hairstyles, as these hair types make it difficult to perform the treatment properly.

Will my therapist dry my hair after the treatment?

Yes. Your therapist will partially dry your hair after the treatment. You can then style your hair yourself using the hair dryers and styling tools available at the salon.

Can I take photos or post about my experience on social media?

Yes, you are welcome to share your experience at Belle Cheveu on social media. You may take photos and videos, but please be careful not to include the faces of other customers or our staff in your photos or videos. Please limit video recording to three times within one minute. Recording the entire treatment process is not permitted. For filming for YouTube or other video platforms, please contact us in advance by email. Approval will depend on the number of subscribers to your channel.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. We accept major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express and Diners Club.
